Calgary based Highfield Investment Group acquired the racing and gaming operations of Edmonton based Century Mile Racetrack and Casino and Calgary based Century Downs Racetrack and Casino from Century Casinos Inc. (NASDAQ:CNTY) for $23.2MM. The transaction excludes the underlying real estate and was completed at a 6.1x FY2025 EBITDA multiple.
North Vancouver based SenseNet Inc., a wildfire detection company, acquired Rockville, MD based N5 Sensors’ wildfire related assets, a semiconductor producer that offers a wildfire sensor network aimed at detecting and tracking wildfire locations.
Thunder Bay based Friesen Travel Group acquired two Expedia Cruises locations in Winnipeg as its first expansion outside of Ontario, with further plans to open three additional locations in Winnipeg over the next 36 months.
Richmond based UniUni, a tech-enabled logistics company offering crowd-sourced, last-mile parcel delivery services, entered into a term sheet for private funding from an undisclosed existing investor. This follows shortly after its failed merger with MAK Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), due to deteriorating finances breaching the merger agreement announced in May.
