Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • HVAC:
    Service Logic Holdings Canada
    announced the acquisition of Port Coquitlam, BC based Custom Air Conditioning, a provider of commercial mechanical services (HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical services) across 4 locations from Vancouver based CAI Capital Partners.

  • Consumer discretionary:
    Pursuit Attractions and Hospitality Inc. (NYSE:PRSU) announced the acquisition of Victoria based Eagle Wing Tours, a whale watching and marine wildlife tourism services provider.

  • Geomatics:
    Vancouver based ZenaTech Inc. (NASDAQ:ZENA) announced the acquisition of Grande Prairie based Velocity Geomatics Inc., a provider of geospatial land surveying, geomatics, mapping, and environmental and regulatory compliance services for Western Canadian oil and gas producers.

  • Interest rate update:
    The Bank of Canada held key interest rates steady at 2.25% last Wednesday.

  • Inflation update:
    According to Statistics Canada, June inflation was 2.8% (3.2% in May 2026), driven largely by a 10% decline in gasoline costs month over month. Excluding gasoline, inflation was unchanged at 2.2%.
